Sugar Ray And The Raging Bull

Forever Collectibles [FOCO] celebrated one of boxing’s greatest rivalries with Monday’s release of the Sugar Ray Robinson-Jake LaMotta Dual Ring Fight 1 Bobblehead, which is numbered to 224.

The first of six fights between the legendary boxers took place on Oct. 2, 1942 at Madison Square Garden. It was Robinson’s middleweight debut and, despite getting knocked down in the first round, won via unanimous decision.

Robinson would go on to win five of the six meetings between the two, including what has been dubbed The St. Valentine Valentine’s Day Massacre, which took place on Feb. 14, 1951 at Chicago Stadium. Robinson effectively ended LaMotta’s career with a punishing TKO in the 13th round. Robinson had pummeled the defenseless LaMotta, portrayed by Oscar-winning actor Robert DeNiro in the movie Raging Bull, for several rounds, prompting the stoppage.

So, head on over to FOCO now and add these two boxing legends to your boxing collection.

I have been collecting bobbleheads for nearly 20 years and have recently become more involved in online chats, swap groups and raffles for bobbleheads. I primarily collect baseball but enjoy talking about and seeing new nodders.
